Talladega Trucks: Friday Race, Central Time

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returns to Talladega Superspeedway on Friday, October 23, 2026. The published start for the Love’s RV Stop 225 is 3 p.m. at the Alabama track, which is 4 p.m. Eastern. For an owner-operator fitting a race visit around a load, the first useful distinction is simple: the truck race is on Friday, while the Cup Series event is on Sunday. Booking for the wrong day would not deliver the same experience.

Put the same moment on every calendar

The track’s weekend schedule and NASCAR’s national ticket calendar describe the same start in different time zones. On October 23, 3 p.m. in Alabama is also 3 p.m. in Houston, 4 p.m. in New York and 2 p.m. in Monterrey. Those conversions apply to this date; they are not a permanent rule for every race weekend or every city.

When sharing plans, include the date, series and time zone together. A message saying only “Friday at four” leaves the recipient to guess whether it refers to Eastern time or the local clock. Save the event in a calendar that displays the destination’s zone, then compare it with the clock used for your work commitments.

Race start is not the opening of the gates

For Friday, the current track program lists parking lots opening at 10 a.m., grandstand entry through EP4 and EP7 at 11 a.m., qualifying from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and driver introductions at 2:40 p.m. These are local Central times. They describe different parts of the day, so an arrival target should say which activity you intend to attend.

Someone interested in qualifying needs a different plan from someone attending only the race. Likewise, a parking opening does not mean every ticketed area opens at that moment. Check your admission product against the current schedule rather than assuming that the first opening listed grants access to the whole property. Recheck the organizer’s page before departure because event programs can change.

Choose the parking product before choosing the entrance

Talladega’s parking information distinguishes free, preferred, VIP and accessible parking. Its maps identify separate lots and entrance arrangements, and some options require a pass. The useful question is which lot matches your admission and vehicle, rather than which map pin is closest to the track on a general navigation search.

A fan parking map does not, by itself, confirm that a commercial tractor-trailer may enter or remain there. If the visit involves a working truck, obtain confirmation for that specific vehicle and intended stay before building a delivery or rest plan around the venue. This guide does not verify commercial-truck parking, overnight availability or permission to use a campground as a freight stop.

Keep the three race dates separate

The published weekend has the Truck Series on October 23, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on October 24 and the Cup Series on October 25. A weekend heading can refer to the whole program, while a particular admission, parking pass or experience may cover a narrower period. Match the date on each item before paying or arranging travel.

If a promotional panel and the main schedule show different dates, confirm the event in the purchase flow or with the organizer instead of guessing which panel is current. Our review found an older October 17 seating label on the truck ticket page alongside its October 23 event heading. The dedicated weekend schedule and NASCAR calendar agree on October 23.

A short checklist for a visit around work

  • Record “Truck Series, Friday October 23, 3 p.m. Central” in the trip plan.
  • Decide whether qualifying is part of the visit before selecting an arrival time.
  • Match admission, parking and any extra access to the correct date.
  • Confirm the vehicle’s acceptance separately if traveling with commercial equipment.
  • Leave the next work commitment independent of an assumed race finish or immediate exit.

The organizer advises patience when leaving the parking areas. A published start is not a guaranteed finishing time or an exit-time promise. For a working driver, the practical value of this guide is the distinction between the event timetable, the access purchased and the time actually available away from work. Check those three items before committing to the detour.
