New Bill Would Ban China-Linked Trucking Companies from Hauling U.S. Military Equipment
The "Trucking Security and CCP Disclosure Act" introduced in Senate and House would ban trucking companies with ties to China from hauling U.S. military equipment. Companies must certify independence.
National security meets the trucking world 🛡️
What's This About?
A new bill called the "Trucking Security and CCP Disclosure Act" has been introduced in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
What Would This Law Do?
- Ban trucking companies with ties to China or the Chinese Communist Party from hauling U.S. military equipment
- Require certification that the company has no ties to Chinese entities posing a national security threat
- Apply to all companies involved in military transport contracts
Why Does It Matter?
In recent years, there's been growing concern about Chinese infiltration into critical U.S. supply chains. Military equipment transport is especially sensitive — knowing routes, schedules, and cargo contents would be valuable intelligence for any adversary.
Industry Impact
For most American truckers and transport companies, this doesn't change much. But for companies with military transport contracts, there will be new paperwork and certification processes.
It's another sign that the government is putting a magnifying glass on who's moving what across U.S. highways.
