Houston: Check These November 7–9 Ramp Closures

Two Houston ramp closures affect different directions this weekend. Check the dates and approach before dispatching a truck through the area.

Check the approach, not just the freeway number

Houston TranStar's TxDOT construction report lists separate connector-ramp closures for November 7–9, 2026. One affects westbound I-10 access to the I-610 East Loop; another affects the northbound I-69 Southwest connector to Spur 527 North. These are different movements, not one citywide freeway shutdown.

I-10 westbound: an overnight connector closure

The report schedules a total closure of the westbound I-10 connector to the I-610 East Loop from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, excluding Sundays, beginning Saturday, November 7 and continuing through the listed November 14 end date. For Saturday night's trip, the relevant window is November 7 at 9 p.m. to November 8 at 5 a.m.

All times here are local Houston time, America/Chicago. A total connector closure does not mean every I-10 main lane is closed. Check the direction of your approach; the eastbound movement has its own entry in the official report.

I-69 Southwest: the Spur 527 connection

Separately, the northbound connector to Spur 527 North is listed as continuously closed from Friday, November 6 at 9 p.m. until Monday, November 9 at 5 a.m. Do not read that as a closure of every northbound I-69 lane or assume the I-10 overnight reopening also reopens this connector.

A dispatch check before entering Houston

  • Match freeway, direction and connector name to the truck's approach.
  • Compare arrival with the closure window, including the date after midnight.
  • Recheck the official report before departure and follow work-zone signs.
  • Review alternatives against vehicle dimensions, load and applicable restrictions.
  • Tell the receiver if a revised route changes the delivery plan.

Schedules can change for weather, emergency work or other events. This report does not establish current queue length, predict a delay or certify a detour for every truck. Open the official schedule below before relying on a familiar ramp.
