DTNA Q3: More Sales Do Not Set Your Delivery Date
DTNA sold more trucks in Q3, but orders tell another story. Separate yearly growth from the quarterly change before comparing offers.

Read the region and period first
Daimler Truck's November 6 results show Trucks North America sold 45,629 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, compared with 30,225 a year earlier. The company reports a 51% increase. Incoming orders were 29,357, versus 26,168 in the corresponding 2025 quarter, an increase of 12%.
Yearly growth and a quarterly decline can coexist
The official results presentation lists 35,379 North American orders in the second quarter of 2026. The third-quarter figure was therefore about 17% lower than the immediately preceding quarter, calculated from those two reported totals. That comparison does not contradict the 12% year-on-year increase: the starting periods differ.
These are manufacturer segment figures. They do not measure every Class 8 truck ordered in North America or identify the delivery date of a particular dealer's vehicle. Keep that distinction when comparing this release with an industry-wide estimate.
A checklist for the actual offer
For an owner-operator or small fleet considering replacement, compare the written proposals. These are editorial questions for a seller, not conditions announced by Daimler:
- Is the offer for an identified vehicle, a reserved build slot or an estimated future allocation?
- Does it specify the required engine, transmission, axle configuration and working equipment?
- Which delivery date is confirmed, which is an estimate, and what could change it?
- Which items are included in the quotation and what requires a separate agreement?
Keep context separate from your commitment
A stronger sales quarter alone does not prove a truck is ready for delivery or that its seller will change the price. Preserve the quotation, configuration and delivery terms together before committing to a replacement plan. The official release below provides the quarterly comparison; it does not substitute for a written offer for your truck.
